My friend showed me his new Escort Passport 9500ix radar detector and how it worked, but I told him the radar detectors I purchased in the past displayed so many false readings that is why I have not brought one until now. When I got a chance to try his new Escort Passport 9500ix in my truck. I must say it was the best investment I could have ever made, it works as described in the video I saw online. The detector works great right out of the box. Programming the radar detector (RD) is fairly straightforward and easy to complete. All you need is a computer, USB cable and the necessary software. I found no flaws whatsoever with the RD in any manner. One thing I would point out though is that the RD tends to feel a little warm during operation, but I would assume that’s normal. Aside from that, this device receives two thumbs up.

The 9500ix has great features, but the included database of red-light cameras is not very accurate. It is best to go online and update the database periodically. Overall, the 9500ix works as advertised, giving you ample warning for X, K, and Ka bands. The “indicated speed” feature is a bonus. The Laser detection is about as good as other detectors, but you have very little warning on laser speed traps due to the speed of the laser signal. All in all, the cost of this detector will be paid for by the savings from avoiding 2 speeding tickets.

I purchased this radar detector because I got a ticket for $166 dollars. I read reviews on all the major radar detectors. After the reviews I found that this radar detector rated higher than any other out there. Once it arrived at my home I used it for my daily commute back and forth to work, and I must say it works excellent, long before I even see a cop the escort warns you of the their presence therefor giving you plenty of time to slow down. Don’t be a fool go out and get this radar detector.I know it’s expensive and I know times are rough right now because of the economy and everything but believe me the Escort Passport 9500ix pays for it’s self from the money you’ll save from speeding tickets. I think I’ve said enough Im sure you’ll choose wisely.
