Garmin nüvi 255W 4.3-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator – The navigation works really well. I only wish it could go beyond the 10 miles from my starting point and also, not having to clear all of my routes at once. Otherwise, it’s great. Even the detours worked really well.

I bought the Nuvi 255W for myself, plus the Nuvi 350 for my son, both Nuvi’s are great. I have a radio so didn’t care about having a MP3 player in my Nuvi. The 255 with the wider screen is the way to go.

This is a great, reliable GPS that does everything I need. Amazon generally has a really great price on these. If you are interested in an entry level GPS, you should seriously consider this one compared to the others. Garmin’s feature set and routing capabilities are almost always better than the other brands.

My only real reservation, which isn’t Garmin’s fault, is that from what I read, and from talking to people, I don’t dare mount it in my car, because the sight of the mounted GPS, or even the sight of a slight ring on the window where the suction cup has been mounted, will cause my window to be broken in my car for an attempted robbery.

Excellent prdouct, manufactured in Lenexa, Kansas (U.S. not a Chinese Product for a change). I do not know anybody driving any distances without this product. I wish the Manuals would be a lot better. Garmin assumes that everybody is a computer genius. I have been working with computers for 25 years and I have to figure out a lot of features. Product is good quality, reliable even in foreign countries (if you have the maps for that country) I gave one for Christmas to my sister living overseas and she loved it.

Kenwood KDC-MP342U WMA/MP3 CD Receiver Review
This is a wonderful system. I bought this primarily for my IPod. The sound is crystal clear. I heard instruments in familiar songs I never heard before ! The music just fills my car with great sound at a great price.

For the price, you cant beat this head unit. I’m usually all for Pioneer but for the price of this deck, you cant beat this deal. USB port in the front is awesome and the FM tuner pulls in a lot more radio stations then other head units I’ve used before.

This CD player from kenwood is a good quality player, with good audio at cheap price. Also nice it is setup for ipods and mp3’s, as well as satellite & bluetooth if you have them. I just installed it in my truck the other night. It works great and sounds wonderful. It was very easy to install and looks sharp. I’m glad I bought it, I just realized that now I need to get new speakers.

I bought a JVC El cameleon for my car. One of the reasons was the bluetooth option for my phone. After trying to turn up the volume several times and changing EVERYTHING except the volume (because of the digital display) I returned it and Bought this marvel. Again the reason was that I needed the bluetooth for my phone (which is huge btw.) You can purchase the bluetooth adapter separately. Well, when I got installed and just turned on it was awesome, just hearing the radio I realized the difference between Kenwood and the other brands. It was crisp clear with the right amount of bass and treble and it has that punch that makes you feel you bought the right one. Also it has a sturdy feel, it seems simple but has a lot of functions, you have to learn the manual, but once you learn to program it is fantastic. it has front inputs for whatever you want to connect from a USB memory stick to iPod and you can control from the head unit or the iPod. The bluetooth also works perfect with my BlackBerry Pearl with the OS updated I can stream music from it and sounds superb. You won’t regret buying this one its a sure buy!

Just got the alarm installed 2 days ago, but I think its great. The Screen gives you all the info that youn need and tells you that the car is locked or unlocked at all times. I also like that the remote is a rechargeable battery via mini USB! I find it to be an awesome feature. A liittle thing that I also like is that it displays the time as well. Only thing is that i need to make it a little bit more sensitive, but i have to bring it back to the shop for that. Highly Recommend!

Installed in my 07 camry. not using all features (controlling windows) but what I am using works (remote start, trunk release). Had to buy additional parts for the trunk release since my car doesn’t have an electronic component for the trunk release. Nevertheless, product has been working for almost a month now with no problems.

I have had 5 viper products over time and this is the best one I have owned. I installed it by myself in my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it works great. This model remote has a better screen than my other car which has the 5900. The rechargeable battery is a must compared to putting a new AAA battery in every few weeks! What a waste. The range is good and combined with a CAN BUS module, install is much easier these days and integrates with the factory computer/alarm system. In fact, I can use the original unlock/lock remote and it arms/disarms the VIPER! I don’t use it because I need the remote start feature but it is nice to have an additional backup. Also, the 5901 (unlike the 5900) comes with a second remote. It is the 1 way remote, but is still great to have a second remote to go with the second key. DE also put the arm light inside the antenna. At first, I didn’t like this but I found a nice spot behind the rear view mirror and tucked in the roof that allows the light to shine yet be somewhat discrete. Also, the program button is on the antenna. Just make sure you can access it and don’t tuck the antenna to far way! Because of these changes, you have to have the antenna plugged in for the 5901 to even turn on. I had it all hooked up and thought I’d be able to test. No worky. Turns out the antenna has to be plugged in! Good to know. The shock sensor is now built into the main box too. Not sure what I think about that yet. Last thing is the remote is awesome. I already mentioned the battery, but the remote is now a mini computer. There are so many programming options such as, more feedback about the status of the car, current time, cabin temperature (which is currently stuck at 95 deg all the time!), several color options to choose, vibrate and several audible options (5900 had some of this), and a bigger screen. All in all.. love it. This is the best out there.

My friend showed me his new Escort Passport 9500ix radar detector and how it worked, but I told him the radar detectors I purchased in the past displayed so many false readings that is why I have not brought one until now. When I got a chance to try his new Escort Passport 9500ix in my truck. I must say it was the best investment I could have ever made, it works as described in the video I saw online. Anyone interested in buying a state of the arc radar detector please check out this one first. Amazon.Com thanks for the way my order was handled, I got the item fast and it works great. The detector works great right out of the box. Programming the radar detector (RD) is fairly straightforward and easy to complete. All you need is a computer, USB cable and the necessary software. I found no flaws whatsoever with the RD in any manner. One thing I would point out though is that the RD tends to feel a little warm during operation, but I would assume that’s normal. Aside from that, this device receives two thumbs up.

The 9500ix has great features, but the included database of red-light cameras is not very accurate. It is best to go online and update the database periodically. Overall, the 9500ix works as advertised, giving you ample warning for X, K, and Ka bands. The “indicated speed” feature is a bonus. The Laser detection is about as good as other detectors, but you have very little warning on laser speed traps due to the speed of the laser signal. All in all, the cost of this detector will be paid for by the savings from avoiding 2 speeding tickets.

I purchased this radar detector because I got a ticket for $166 dollars. I read reviews on all the major radar detectors. After the reviews I found that this radar detector rated higher than any other out there. Once it arrived at my home I used it for my daily commute back and forth to work, and I must say it works excellent, long before I even see a cop the escort warns you of the their presence therefor giving you plenty of time to slow down. Don’t be a fool go out and get this radar detector.I know it’s expensive and I know times are rough right now because of the economy and everything but believe me the Escort Passport 9500ix pays for it’s self from the money you’ll save from speeding tickets. I think I’ve said enough Im sure you’ll choose wisely.

I installed it myself and found it went in easily. There’s a great online community for modifying this system as well. All the features advertised work great. I bought the separate ipod cable and the AVICs ipod interface is intuitive and simple.

I purchased this unit for my 2003 H2 Hummer. For some reason the unit will turn itself off during operation, regardless of the mode it is in. I don’t know if the unit itself is incompatible with the Hummer system, but this scenario is beginning to happen more frequently. The Navigation system doesn’t seem to be up to date, as i notice while traveling it will give a route selection that is abnormal to the better route i have traveled for some time prior to its purchase.

I purchased this product with the 2.0 Firmware update pre-installed so I can’t really comment on the complaints involving units with the original Firmware. But I do know this, for the price, as compared to the likes of Alpine, Eclipse & Kenwood you can’t beat this unit for features offered out of the box. Built-in blue tooth, no need for a separate add-on module, and built-in (flash based) maps, no need for a separate map DVD or a separate hard drive module. So far so good as far as my use of this device. The GPS unit is exactly what I expected, it’s not perfect, I’ve used better as far as accuracy and style is concerned. Haven’t had a chance to utilize the blue tooth but when I do I will update this review. The sound quality is about what I had expected, no engine noise or anything like that, thankfully. I did notice that if you’re listening to music files on the USB or SD Card media when you turn the system off then back on it doesn’t retain last position memory in the song so it starts the song over. This behavior is not manifested if you are listening to music files off a CD or DVD. It reads dual layer blank DVDs so you can load one up with up to 8 gigs of music files. Installed the add-on HD Radio module using an antenna splitter & it works well plus my normal AM/FM radio behaves as one would normally expect.
